Rights Without Duties Equal Ethical Disaster

Katie, bingo!  Ethics are another way of saying duty.  Our society is rights obsessed.  Rights mean, this is what I get.  Duty, on the other hand, means this is what I give.  In other words, in order to get you must also give.  This is a core ethical concept.  Otherwise, one party is ripping off the other party.  Our society has created a "rights industry" without balancing it with a corresponding "duty industry."  We cannot much longer remain afloat if everybody is busy taking and not giving anything.  Yes, duty is the operative word for ethical sanity, health now and always.  Thank you!   Dr. Rux
