Empty Space and Moral Compass
Brandy, the Chinese philosophy of Taoism teaches the value, importance of "empty space" in life's journey. You follow Taoism in this. The most important part of a room, for example, is the empty space in it! Moreover, to progress, grow, we need to venture into "empty space," or "unknown waters" in order to let new challenges, insights, resources into our lives. Your humble servant here, for example, will venture into several "empty spaces" this month as he searches for contract research and consulting work in fields that are new to him. To each field, of course, he, as you plan to do too, bring his honed moral compass so he will not lose ethical balance in the new contexts. We need both. We need a core compass, but we also need to trust this compass to help us to navigate new opportunities an ethical fashion. Think Christopher Columbus here. He had an inner compass to set sail into "empty space" for he knew out there was a new world waiting for him. He never lost courage, his inner compass, and we are living the results of his moral courage to venture into empty space. Dr.Rux
