Special Schools for Special Needs
Serena, your humble servant worked to start parental voucher schools in the central city of Milwaukee for nine years. Along the way, he met a woman, a principal in the city school system, who planned to set up a separate high school for pregnant teens. This would be your humble servant's approach. Sadly, the number of unwed pregnant teens is huge, and likely growing. First, what moral standards does the school want to signal? Second, can the school be all things to all people - for example special needs here? Your case study reminds this writer to check to see if this Milwaukee project did get off the ground. I hope so!
