Share the Wealth

Your professor believes in sharing the wealth and maximizing return on investment, ROI, from time invested in valuable responses to otherwise private posts of student work for grading.  You will notice there is no student name connected with the feedback below.  This honors privacy ethics and legalities; at the same time, you get the benefit of sharing careful reflection on course subject matter.  Thanks.  Dr. Rux
This is a powerful analysis of OD, or organizational development.  Three factors you discuss deserve special attention.  1. Ideally, OD seeks to develop each and every individual potential as best it can as part of its outcomes.  Yes, folks, people are not widgets.  They deserve respect, and this leads to encouraging them to self-actualize, to use Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs language.  2.  Norms are key, for they are another word for culture, which is another words for values that drive behavior.  For your humble servant here, values, or organizational culture, are crucial, for in the final analysis, they determine what will happen or not happen.  3. Structure, also called processes, are crucial, for they are the systems in which we live, work.  Systems design and analysis are crucial, for in the end, we cannot "buck the systems."  So we need to create systems that do not required "bucking."  Great job!   Dr. Rux
