Values Count Big Time in Human Affairs

If your humble servant had to pick one element, dimension of OD, organizational development, it would be culture, which means value or set of values.  Organizations have cultures; they are the values that drive decision, what gets done and left undone.  They are the values that drive process design, funding priorities, and relationships among members of the organization.  Yes, values count big time; it takes 3-5 years to change an organizational culture.  To change it also requires a 100% backing of the top power in the organization, or you will go down.  Thank you for starting with organizational culture in your analysis, for it indeed comes first.  Dr. Rux
