Mass Media Culture Versus Individual Conscience

Kendry, we share the same ethical roots:  conscience.  As you point out, regardless of what others do, we must to our own selves remain true.  As you point out, this is very hard today in our mass media society, culture.  We need only to think of the power of fashion to dictate to us!  Yet, deep inside us remains an ethical compass which we can cultivate.  In your case, your parents and the heritage of your family have provided powerful support for this inner voice of yours.  This writer is happy to say that he has had the same support from his family, parents, and heritage.  Confucius said, if we are confused about right and wrong, stop, reflect on our heritage, our family legacy; we will receive insight into how to behave and hear our inner voice, conscience.  Conscience, the individual voice, and heritage, the social support of others, are a powerful ethical force if aligned.  Amen.  Good job.  Dr. Rux
