Knowledge Worker Norms

John, in the Information Age we have Knowledge Workers, persons who work with their brains, not their muscles, as was the old Industrial Age case.  How we treat, manage, lead, work with Knowledge Workers differs from the old command, top-down, take-orders, full-steam-ahead old models of change, leadership, and management.  In effect, you restate famed management expert Peter F. Drucker here.  Yes, you do not bully Knowledge Workers, for they retaliate by withholding their knowledge, skills, enthusiasm, etc.  The interesting part of this kind of retaliation is the boss does not even know it happens, for what we do not say often is more powerful than what we say, share.
