Choice is ethical.
Lisa, these are first-class choices; you have done a first-class job with abstracting and critiquing them. Your first article about student recruitment and its future, and the need for ethical practices in such recruitment, now and in the future, struck home. Yesterday, your humble servant here attended a Rotary International Club meeting in Madison, WI, where a member of the school board came to bash charter and voucher schools. This writer had a hard time with her presentation, for he believes in school choice, as ethical, for it best serves the varied needs of students. In fact, he is thinking about offering a counter-presentation for groups to this effect. The governor of our state is expanding voucher schools; the entrenched public schools are fighting to protect their turf, of course. Yes, choice, is an ethical factor, issue, value.
