Barbara, this writer can relate. Over the weekend, he and his wife stopped with our grandkids at our local McDonald's it was dark, around 6:30 p.m. and about 32 degrees outside. As I got out of my care, I noticed in the dark a person laying on the ground reading a newspaper! This is totally out of place. I told the manager. She went out and came back with, "He's only reading a newspaper." We just had a drug murder in our town two blocks from our house. One guy used a baseball bat on the other. Yes, the drug trade is here in our small village; when you see people on the cold ground in the night reading a newspaper, this is a danger signal. The manager ought to be fired on the spot. She did not listen to the fear - legitimate - of the customer. It gets dumber - and more dangerous out there - more and more.
