We need more Chipmunk Clubs!

Kelly, your discussion of your current place of employment, school, is very insightful and warm.  Yes, my wife attended a one-room country school; in it, every child knew the other children.  They all player together; the older ones helped the younger ones.  It is "magical" to hear her talk about it - for example, the kids organized their own "Chipmunk Club" to hold parties!  You work in a similar situation; your eyes are wide-open to the importance of having schools on a human, not factory, scale so such personal interaction can flourish.  This writer compares it to having a small Greek city state in which everybody knows each other versus the highly centralized imperial Roman empire in which a central remote bureaucracy pulls the strings.  Yes, it is not perfect, but we need more of it!  Thank you for sharing!   Dr. Rux
