Rationalization and Technology Pose Ethical Threats.

This is a first-class application of course concepts as frames of analyses to clarify your own ethical position.  Two discussions in particular jump out at this writer.  They are rationalization and technology.  Let's tackle rationalization first.  As this writer sees it, politicians are great examples of rationalization.  They have an agenda; they hire propagandists to rationalize for the public why this agenda is good.  Technology is of special interest because, as you note, we are still caught up in an "explosion" of new technologies, which are impacting our social, ethical relationships.  Emile Durkheim, famed sociologist, wrote about "anomie," social isolation, as the start down the road to suicide for people.  The debate today is how much "anomie" (anonymity)does technology create, and how poisonous is it to human relationships and personal health?  Yes, the dance between sociology and technology is fascinating, and it impacts all of us.  Thanks for catalyzing these thoughts.  Dr. Rux
