Ethics of Fat Bodies

Deanna, you put "first things first" in your ethics.  You start with yourself, your body in particular.  In our society, we discredit, discount fat people.  If you want to lead, slim down, take care of your body so you look vital, not waddling layers of fat.  As you point out, appearance telegraphs what is important; health is crucial.  It is our most valuable asset - after knowing right and wrong.  Respecting our health, our bodies, sends a powerful ethical message to others.  It says we are doing things "right," and as a result, others will be more willing to follow our ethical lead.  Thank you for this important starting point.  Good job.  Dr. Rux
