Human Subject Research Ethics Training
Your discussion above about the ethics of research on humans holds special interest for your humble servant here, for he is fully IRB (Institutional Review Board) certified in the ethics of human subject research by the CITI program at the University of Miami.  Some universities require all students today to get IRB certification before they can conduct doctoral research, especially if it involves humans.  Check it out if these kinds of issues intrigue you.  CITI also requires periodic re-certification, which I passed again last year.  The concern with this issue surfaced after World War II when Nazis went on trial for crimes against humanity, which included cruel "live" experiments on humans in concentration camps.  Hopefully we will not need such trials again.  Dr. Rux
