Immigrant Friendship
Wanda, I am sorry to hear of your losses. You remind me to make a phone call. A good friend is dying in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, as I type this. He was my department chair when I taught in Ontario, Canada. We bonded. He was an immigrant from India, and I, an American, too had immigrant status in order to work there. He became a Canadian and I returned to the USA. He was writing his "story" about being an immigrant in Canada, which, sadly, included severe discrimination. I supported him through these ugly trials. We had the same values. Now, I need to call his wife to ask permission to finish his story for him. Thank you for the reminder of putting "first things first." Dr. Rux
