Voice Reveals Inner Person

Jeanine, this is an excellent summary of your "lessons learned" for the past week.  Yes, the phone interview is standard practice, of course, in the distance learning hiring world.  Your humble servant has only met one hiring person face to face in all of the years he has taught, 1999-present.  This meeting moreover was social and outside the context of business.  The human voice is hard to disguise; we can tell much about a person's condition by the tone of his or her voice, e.g. stress.  We can disguise facial features; we cannot disguise our voice.  This is a lesson from organizational behavior research.
