Power of Today's Visual Culture

Mary, last summer, I attended the annual (2012) World Future Society conference in Toronto.  It is in  Chicago this year (2013); I have already signed up for it, and paid for my participation.  Anyway, during the three days of presentations in Toronto - all of them excellent, I kept thinking of Naisbitt's visual culture analysis from his Mind Sets.  Yes, all of the presenters were careful to have well-crafted PowerPoints!  I could not imagine an audience listening to a speaker today without a PowerPoint in tandem with the narrative!  On March 5th, I am slated to speak on Futuring at a nearby Rotary club.  I am very aware of my need to be visual, or fail.  I am sure you can relate to this too from your experiences.
