Brian, I have humble roots, although my family, who immigrated, both sides, from Germany (Prussia), in the 1840's and 1880's, went to work as loggers, small farmers, small business persons, etc. Never once did they let their socio-economic status undermine their sense of honor. You acquired a sense of honor too from your heritage. Otherwise, you would not have enlisted in the USMC, the history of which is a story of honor. I am sure your sainted family are "looking down" on you from "on high" with smiles on their faces because you represent them and all that they could not have because of life's circumstances. Recently, I walked through our family cemetery to place wreaths. As I got ready to go, I stood still - listened. I heard from them "Be a man of honor."
