Pamela, Germany, in fact, is using these bailouts to assert its control over Europe. Germany is smart. It has learned from two world wars that you can win through "smart business" services, practices, products. The USA has learned nothing in contrast. We are now paying $2 trillion and rising for two senseless wars in the Middle East, both of which are now ten years in length. The military-industrial complex makes money. The oil companies make money. The average folks pay. An old saying goes, "Losers learn, and winners learn nothing." Maybe we will learn something after the severe pains on the way because of ignoring the lessons of history. Germany has learned.

- Paul Rux holds three degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Madison: Ph.D. (Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis), M.A.L.S. (Library & Information Studies), B.A. (History & Integrated Liberal Studies). He holds a M.A. in Educational Theory from the University of Toronto, where he was a Graduate Fellow. He also attended Trinity College, University of Dublin, as a special one-year student in the Honours School of History and Political Science. He is a founding member of the Knights of Divine Mercy. His wife Jane and he live in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. They have four grandchildren, the delights of their lives. He is an active member of the World Future Society, has published in its journal The Futurist, and presented at its annual international conference.
