Wisdom plus humility create grounded ethics.
This is a fascinating personal ethics statement. In particular, two concepts strike your humble servant as exceptionally important. The first is wisdom. When this writer was in junior high school, he attended basketball practices at night. Walking home one night, he made a prayer under the starlit sky. "God, please make me wise like King Solomon in the Bible." Of course, the boy had no idea for what he asked. Wisdom, much of it, flows from "lessons learned" from life experiences, good and bad. Wisdom and its formation involve both pleasure - and, yes, pain. It takes a bit of living to gain wisdom. Second, , humility translates into good communication, which is talking and listening. We need to take time to listen and not talk, talk, talk ourselves. Please, pain, and listening are "short and sweet" ways to acquire ethical wisdom. Dr. Rux
