Lack of management support for teachers destroys standards.
Bonnie, you have done a first-class job with this assignment about the ethics of grading. Your humble servant here will venture his opinion. It is simple. You back the teacher. There is n othing worse for a teacher than not having 100% support from administration. If this support is absent, look for standards to crash. Your humble servant here at another online university recently had to apologize to a doctoral students for asking her to follow directions. The student whined to management; the result was the student won, for tuition counts more than standards. This writer had to formally apologize for asking the student to follow directions in a conference call with six administrators. How do you think this writer grades now? Sadly, more and more teachers are on their own, and it is destroying morale and standards. Dr. Rux
