Cicero "Rides Again"

Derrick, yes, humans know when somebody genuinely cares about them and respond accordingly.  Your caring produces results, unexpected results given your situation.  Yet, as Roman philosopher Cicero observed, it is not the country that makes us good.  It is the good inside the individual that makes us good if we become aware of, cultivate, and apply it.  You are a model of Cicero's insight into ethics.  You do not let externalities stop you.  You listen to what is inside you; the result is caring and student success.  Amen.  It is refreshing to encounter such ethical courage.  You are a role model for all of us.  Thank you for sharing.  Dr. Rux
