American-style Development Destroys Peace and Safety

Sylvia, yes, structures, physical structures, around us shape us.  Here are two current examples in Crystal River, Florida, where my wife and I are snow birding.  Across the street from us is a U.S. Federal Wildlife Sanctuary.  It allows visitors three times a week for half days.  Now, the money grubbers here want it opened 7 days a week 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.  Imagine the traffic that will invade this part of Crystal River if this occurs?  People who live on the now-quiet streets around the Sanctuary are frantic, for they are likely to lose peace, quiet, and, yes, personal safety.  The other example is a "developer" who wants the county to construct a road along the side of a rural neighborhood so he can build 45 houses behind it.  Again, the rural people are frantic about traffic impacts on their peace and quiet.  Likely, money, profits will win out in the end.  My wife and I may just have to find another location to enjoy peace and quiet if we return next year.  Yes, human structures, roads for tourist traffic and commuters shape us - good and hard.  Dr. Rux
