Janet, FYI, an old friend of mine is director of one of 17 educational service agencies in our sate (WI). Her salary is $134,000/year plus $58,000/year in benefits! She has devised an assessment package for the common core curriculum, and the state just awarded her agency $1 million per year to implement it statewide. This is what happens when your husband is a ranking state senator with over 25 years of service! She also was a member of our state assembly for my hometown district, which is how I first met her when I was doing telecommunications deregulation lobbying in the state capital as part of my work as a technology planner for the Wisconsin State Department of Public Instruction. The local state newspaper has been beating up on her for her assessment activities and making indirect accusations of unprofessional behavior. Welcome to the real world! Dr. Rux
