School Bullying

Lisa, thank you for this fresh perspective on bullying for your humble servant here. He lives in rural Wisconsin, where as a rule we do not have "rough customers" in our schools. This puts an entirely different "spin" on this topic. My first teaching job, in fact, was in the central city of Chicago. I was a replacement teacher for a parochial school in grades 7 and 8. Most of the kids were there to avoid the violence of the public schools! Parents had two jobs often to pay our tuition, which was reasonable compared with other private schools. I had one boy in grade 7 who had scars from 12 stiches from being stabbed in grade school! I also have worked with parental voucher schools in the central city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to plan and expand them. Again, parents sent their kids to these schools for safety. I worked as a planner for ten years in Milwaukee before devoting my time to online education. Yes, if you use bullying in this sense, it is a real terrible challenge for too many kids today.
