I hope all of you found time to pay tribute to our veterans today or over the weekend. My wife and I took a close boyhood friend of mine and his wife to dinner tonight to honor his two-tour duty in Vietnam. I am honored to have him as a dear friend.
In Vietnam, he was a load master for a C-130 cargo plane. It flew the dead bodies of our military back to the USA for burial for two years. You do not do this for free. He still pays a price for doing his duty. Thankfully the Veterans Administration provides whatever counseling and other medical help he needs. He has earned it good and hard.
God bless our veterans. God bless the United States of America, which would not be here without the sacrifices of veterans like my dear boyhood friend.
