Legal is not always ethical.

Several years ago people discovered that Wal-Mart took out secret life insurance policies on employees - and named Wal-Mart as the beneficiary! This helps to explain why it is eager to hire old, sickly people! Somehow this leaked out and Wal-Mart had to pay the relatives of Wal-Mart workers who had died with these secret policies. It was legal; it was not ethical.
