In time, perhaps I will write an essay, book on the Two Tricks that the system in the USA played on the Baby Boomers.
Trick one was the Vietnam War.
The Baby Boomers came of age right after WWII ended. They grew up in a society that honored it veterans. The Boomers thought when their turn, time came to go to war they would receive the same or similar treatment that their parents had received from American society.
To their dismay, they, the Baby Boomers, were drafted in the middle of the night and left to survive or die without a send off or a welcome home. They left in the night and returned in the night. They received none of the adulation that the WWII veterans received from the society.
The Boomers were cheated.
Trick two was politics.
Because of the Vietnam war protests and the civil rights movements, plus wanna-be campus professors who sought to imitate JFK, the Boomers were led to believe that political action was the only way to make the world right.
Now, as the Boomers move into their senior, sunset years they face a political structure that is thinking about destroying their Social Security and Medicare for starters.
In addition, the vampires in Washington and on Wall Street have conspired to commit economic terrorism against the American people, and nobody goes to jail, courts, or a firing squad.
In the aftermath, the Boomers have watched their pension savings collapse as the politicians and their crime family bankster pals loot the country. Yes, politics will save us - good and hard.
The Baby Boomers had two horrific tricks played on them. The fallout from these nasty tricks is not yet over.
Hopefully the Boomers will find solace in things other than politics in the time left to them.
This writer is finding his in his religious heritage. The Rock of Ages does not play nasty tricks on those who put their trust, faith in Him.
